National FFA Convention 2008

This year I went to FFA Convention in Inianapolis, Indiana with my FFA Chapter and some of the Memebers in the chapter. We left the Sky Harbor Airport at 12 P.M. on the 22nd of October.

We Layed over in Atlanta, Georgia.. and we also ate dinner in the Airport.

Once we touched down in Indy, we visited with some of our AZ Members. Mostly Luisa, from the Rio Rico FFA Chapter. She is an amazing individual and so friendly. I've known her since my freshman year in High School.

We got checked into our Hotel, and decided we once again were HUNGRY so we went to a nearby burger joint called Steak and Shake They have the best French Fries, and Shakes.. MMMmmm Miss it already :D

This the view from my mom's room window, it is the Conseico Field House, where alot of our Convention Sessions were held.

After our 1st Session we went to the Taylor Swift Concert, we were able to walk there as it wasnt very far from the Conseico Field House, and our Hotel. The concert was really good and Im glad it was my first one, i was able to be with alot of good friends and make many memories.

Shelby and I getting as close as we could to the stage, lol.. :D

During our Stay there we also ate at a resturant in the Mall it was a steakhouse called CHAMPS . the food was delicious!!!

We were at the FFA Mall and they had contestants doing some musical performing, so my friend Heston and I started to do some swing dancing.. that Dancing soon ended and Mckenzie and I started doing our favorite FFA dance the COTTON EYE JOE we also got some other members to learn it, they caught on fairly quick..

One crazy thing that happened to me while I was at FFA Convention was I saw a very good friend from when I lived in Utah, her name is Taci Shaffer she was representing the National High School Rodeo Association .

The same day I saw Taci we went to the Dodge Bull Riding Series. It was really fun, Shelby had never been to something like this so it was alot of fun showing her and teaching her while she was experiencing the excitement of Bull Riding..

There was also learning experiences while we were in Indy, There was a Civil War Memorial Building, it was 100 floors up and we could walk up there or ride a small 4 or 5 person elevator, but we were going to fit all 9 of us in it... and you bet we all fit going up and down... talk about a tight fit...

I was so glad that my mom was allowed to go and be our Chaperone, everyone had enjoyed her bein thier chaperone too. I got to be with her for the week and we got to get to know one another more. She even got to go on her own adventures and was able to meet Baxter Black how cool is that, I am SO super Jealous!!!

I had such a good time, I am just glad that Mom and I got to be together for that weekend. It was so good to spend just time with her and have it be me and her. I love my mom so much, it was a good weekend and i enjoyed her bein around one event that i enjoy so much!

Making PB & J isnt like Reading Scriptures

So for lunch everyday I have a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich with milk just so i dont have to eat the nasty lunch food or spend $2.25 on something I force myself to eat.

Well last night around 10 as i was making my sandwich for this morning I realized that everytime i make a sandwich i: First spread my Peanut Butter on the right slice of bread, then walk to the fridge and grab the jelly and spead it on the left slice of bread.

It was weird to think about. How I mechanically make a sandwich the same way every night.
It got me thinking on my scripture reading and daily prayers.
I do them but not everynight, and when i do, do them its a mechanical system; pray for help to understand the scriptures i read and help remembering them for future refrence.
Read scriptures for as long as i can and then pray again for the night and slide into bed and go to sleep.

Anyone else do this??

Well bear with me and let try to get better at not doing these sacred things mechanically!

Have you ever felt like you could go anywhere and just knock everyone flat on their back with the way you look that day?
I know i have for sure and these pictures just happen to come from one of those days.

So as everyone knows, i love to take pictures... Especially of myself... there is nothing i love more than feeling like I look good enough to take my moms camera and snap some different poses..

Bored

Sometimes when I'm bored I get all Gussied up and looking good and grab Mom's camera. I always take crazy pics and when I upload them I go directly to my Photobucket site so I can have some fun. :D These are the most recent ones I've done.....

This is one of my most favorites, I like it cause its me and my horse running barrels at a High School Rodeo and its a good pic of him and me both looking at where we were headin next. I thought the little mirror image would be a good accent and the blurred corners would focus on what we were doing.. :D SWEET HUH!!!

4th of July

This 4th of July was so much fun!! Thursday I went on a group date with Trevor Hall. The other couple who came was Robby Martindale and his date Bailee. We went and saw HANCOCK which was really good except for the language, but after hearing everything in the book at school it never phased me... It scared me that i didnt mind, maybe i should be getting a little better about what movies i go see...

Friday morning and afternoon i went with Trevor to the softball tournament in Snowflake. Robby and his dad were playing so we just went to their games and hung out with their family. Which was fun because i gotta see, Emery, one of my girlfriends.

Friday night I went to Emery and Robby's grandmas house to play Cops & Robbers & other night games. It was tons of fun!! I got caught the first round and the second round i was part of the 2nd group that got to the finish point. :D Yeah we know we're good... Then after wards we played some group games on the lawn and after it started raining on us we went inside an watched 10,000 B.C. which wasnt as bad as i heard it was.. now all i have to do is finish the whole movie.. :D

Saturday came too soon since i had stayed up basically all night... (Yes mom, just cause i came home at 1 doesnt mean I went to sleep right away..) I stayed up til about 2:30, a long standing tradition in my life. :D We were awaken by the Gargantuan BOOM of the anvil @ 4 A.M. yeah that is early.. we followed it to each firing point and got to breakfast around 6:30 A.M. I ate as fast as i could and went straight back to my Nana's where i fell asleep til about 12.. Just makin up for my fun, sleepless night..

When I woke up we headed out to go shooting and quad riding.. WOO HOOO!!! one of my favorite things to do with my fam. :D

So these pics are of me and my dad.. Dad usually is the only person who can throw the clay pidgeons when it is just our fam. Im shooting the 12 guage shot gun. It sure packs a punch :D

but my Uncle Roy and cousin, Garrett, did a really good job at throwing so Dad and I got to shoot together..

Also Uncle Roy and I held a sort of cometition where if I didnt hit the pidgeon with one shot Roy would shoot it.. :D

Also here I am shooting my Uncle T's 243 Rifle that i might get to use if i go huntin with dad this December... It'll be in Unit 5 B South. :D
Then for the Rodeo and Dance I was all spiffed up in my cowgirl apparrel.. Of course when am i not.. :D The rodeo and fireworks were just amazing. I got to see and talk to alot of people i know. The dance was just like every year, tons of country music... One of the highlights... Good looking guys to dance with, the other highlight, lol
I cant wait for next year, it'll be just as fun... Maybe funner.... Is that a word??

Blue

Dad called me today and told me he was bringing blue, the horse i rode a few weeks ago, home...

I was so nervous and excited...

I left work, came straight home...

shucked my tennies, tugged on my boots...

and left to ride

So when i got to where he was at, I was a little nervous... He is REALLY TALL.... Like a tower.

I got him ready to go, and we were off...

I only took him a little ways from the house at first, but he began to relax so i decided a little field workout wouldnt hurt...

So i let him go faster...

He had a few small bucks but nothing to worry about... other then that he was a dream to ride and had a good attitude... :D he's a keeper..

Trek

This is me at 4 am.. :D Getting ready for the Trek was no easy task... FOR MOM!!! :D I didnt do much except pack my bags.. Mom had the fun job of makin apron and my bloomers. :D

These are just a few of the Castlegate Girls. We were all ready for this event, with bright eyes and smiles. There wasn't one thing that was going to stop us from going.

The bonfire was just one in many small fun things we got to experince. There is nothing i loved more than bein in my family. I was part of the Wilkins family. I had 4 Brothers and 2 Sisters. We became very good friends with the other families from carts 8 and 10.
The trek was one of the most amazing spiritual events I've had, I enjoyed the feeling of the spirit, family and friends.
The food was amazing and I never went hungry
Thanks to our amazing cooks!

AZ FFA State Leadership Conference

The week was full of fun, friends, and learning. There was so much we got to do with the AZ State FFA. I'm so excited to serve as teh Q.C. Chapter President. It is going to be such an amazing year and this is just a small view of what is to come. :D

These are almost all the girls that went, Shelby went back to the hotel because she wasn't feeling well. The pic was before the dance on Friday night, I know we all look great right? Well we had to do all this while we were riding the bus, which was small, cramped and VERY HOT! Most of the girls had bought shirts that had to do with FFA and we decided that instead of wearing shirts we brought from home we would wear the shirts we bought. We looked way good :D The dance was tons of fun, guys asked us all to dance and the DJ was really good about giving us a whole bunch of different varieties of music. From Country to Rap and Line dances to slow or 2 stepping songs. I know the girls were able to get out and meet tons of people. So did our guys, who after a while got the courage up to go and ask other girls to dance. Yay boys! The Friday dance def. trumped the Thursday dance. Even if is was more cramped and hot. It was def. worth it all. :D

Now I know this is a crazy pic, and I'm entitled to have many. :D Lynsey and I have to have Starbucks at least once for every FFA event we go to. We don't get coffee or anything. Just a Double Chocolate Chip, its like frozen chocolate milk. MMMMmmm. It all started when we went to Convention to Indy together in 2007.

Shelby, Destenie & Chelsea posed for me before our San Tan District Meeting started. Yes it was early but we all got up and lookin good on time. Even though i was the last one out the door. I just wanted to make sure I didnt forget anything.

Tonna and I were getting ready for bed on Thursday night when i took this. It was about 1 A.M. and we had to get up at 5 A.M. so we could leave by 6:30 To get to a workshop at another hotel before our 2nd Conference session. I didn't know it would be so hard to get up after dancing all night.

It was super tough!

This is the group of girls from my chapter that went with me to lunch at Gentle Bens Brewery on University Drive at U of A. It was so much fun getting to know each girl better, they're all fun, full of life and will keep me on my toes this year for sure.

From L to R : Chelsea, Destenie, Me, Lynsey, Shelby & Shayla.

Just the week after being up North for Girls Camp in Strawberry, AZ. I headed South to Tucson, AZ. for our FFA State Leadership Conference. It was so much fun. We had about 18 Q.C. Chapter members which is the most that has ever come in the past 3 years. It was super duper fun! As the Chapters President I felt a huge pride that so many other members want to come and participate in this event.

Girls Camp

Before our Spiritual Testimony meeting, Sis. Moser had a suprise for Bro. Rimmasch & Bishop Oakes. They had to put on panyhose and they were blind folded. It was absolutely HILARIOUS! After out testimony meeting we had the 4th years take the 1st years out Snipe hunting. It was so much fun taking them around the hill behind the house and having them look for the "Snipes" I'll never forget how i scared them with an alien mask i had. :D
We all went on a hike. It was supposed to be this long one, but we all were such dedicated hikers it only took a couple of hours. We had a good time even though we were hot, sweaty, and getting eaten by gnats. The shower at the end of the hike was a good incentive. :D

When the other girls arrived on Wednesday, the 4th years and I were waiting. With flower headbands.

I was the 4th years YCL so I got to go up one day early with Sis. & Bro. Moser, Eliscia, Ashley, Camylle & Amanda. We got the chance to go horse back riding. All the girls we able to get on. 2 of them were VERY scared, but they overcame their fears and got on, if only for a few minutes. It was amazing. We all got the chance to open up and not be so shy.

Last Days of School

This is another good friend of mine, Gianna Marie, she has been with me since the beginning of the year. We had such a good time this year in the many things we did together. She was with me in many different things such as, Choir, Aladdin Jr, and she even went horse back riding with me. She is such a strong girl and I think we rubbed off on eachother. She taught me how to be strong even through the hard times and she says I taught her how to just chill and not care what others think of us.

I never realized the support I had until the last concert, when i walked off the stage in to the audience and was greeted by some of my best friends, from L to R, Heather, Amanda and Camylle. It was just awesome to have them come.

Memorial Day Weekend

Cam brought Jason to Reunion, and since he didn't drive his own car up North. We got to ride with him to Globe. It was alot of fun.. He made me laugh, even when i didn't want to. I guess he had a good time camping with us, cause he sure put up with my two twin cousins, Avery and Braedyn, who had him on his feet almost all day..

For Memorial Weekend I went up North to Taylor for the Snowflake Jr. High Promotion for my friends Sherika, Emery, and Tiffany. After Promotion we went and ordered a Pineapple and Pepperoni Pizza. It was Delish. The fam and I also went to Vernon for our Rothlisberger Reunion. I was very snowy and muddy for the first two days. Not very many people went but it was fun all the same.

2008 FFA Banquet

This year in FFA was amazing and we always end the year with a Banquet. It honors everything we've done the past school year. It also retires the officers from the year and inducts the officers for the new year.

In the middle of the banquet we wanted to wake everyone up, so we, the 07-08 offcer team, dressed up in total Cowgirl and Cowboy apparel and came out singing some of the songs we sing whenever we go to a State FFA Event. We looked awesome!!!

Being inducted as the 08-09 QC FFA President
